Cervical Cancer

An awareness session on Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), cervical cancer, and the launch of the HPV vaccine was organized by the Medical Women's Foundation Pakistan (MWFP) and Chughtai Laboratories , in collaboration with Pakistan Pediatric Association (Punjab), at Chughtai Laboratories Head Office, Gulberg.

The session was chaired by Prof. Rashid Lateef sb, and was attended by leading gynaecologists, paediatricians, public health experts, representatives from Jhpiego, media, civil society, and the pharmaceutical industry. Participants actively contributed to a policy dialogue that will soon be released under the leadership of Prof. Ayesha Humayun, Principal SKZMDC and Advisory Board Member of MWAP.

Vaccines would be available commercially. Thanks to Prof. Sohail Chughtai sb who responded to the request of MWFP and took the lead. The government has played its role, now we need to play our individual role and make this launch a success.
